Memorial Day Weekend Get-Away: Part 1

We're back. And we're fully recovered. Our four days off were perfect. Blissful. And pretty dirty. There's something about this being the first substancial freetime we've had together in 2010, that made us appreciate and love every minute of the trip. I wouldn't say it was a perfect "vacation" by most standards but for us it was exactly what we wanted.
After having breakfast on Friday at our favorite local dive, and spending the day shopping and packing we were on our way. Apparently so was the rest of California, because the campground got croooowded.
Man and Co-pilot take to the road.
Lucky for me. I consider sitting and reading relaxing.
And Jon considers chopping and cooking relaxing. Really.

And there's nothing better then camp food.
Its the only time of the year that we get our fix of velveta mac n'cheese.
Saturday morning we woke up to sunny skies and it was time to play.
Jon attempted to catch us some dinner. Fail.

While Blue got his fill of sticks and swimming.
When we weren't at the lake we made sure to fit in naps and reading.

At the end of each day, Blue was exhausted. As were his parents.

More to share soon...
